Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a typical tour last?

A tour of Pompeii lasts between 2 and 4 hours, depending on your interests. A 2-hour tour of Herculaneum is usually sufficient, as the city is smaller and easier to navigate. Full-day combined tours range from 5 to 7 hours.

Are skip-the-line tickets included?

After purchasing the tour, I will send you instructions on how to easily purchase skip-the-line tickets online for both archaeological sites.

Where is the meeting point?

The meeting point is usually at the main entrance of the archaeological site (For Pompeii: Porta Marina Superiore or Porta Esedra; for Herculaneum: the Ticket Office). If transportation is included, pick-up can be arranged from your hotel, cruise ship, or another location upon request.

Are the tours private?

Yes — all experiences are private tours, reserved exclusively for you and your group. No mixed or shared groups.

Is the guide a certified archaeologist?

Absolutely. I am a professional archaeologist with field experience, and deep knowledge of ancient Greek and Roman history, daily life, art, and architecture.

Are the tours suitable for children or seniors?

Yes. The tours are flexible and designed to be accessible for visitors of all ages, with an engaging storytelling approach for kids and families.

Can I customize the tour itinerary?

Of course. Every tour can be fully customized based on your interests—art, daily life, religion, gladiators, villas, gardens, or specific areas of the archaeological sites.

What should I wear for the visit?

Comfortable shoes, a hat, sunscreen, and water are recommended. Summer temperatures can be very high; in winter, a light jacket is advised.

Do you offer tours in different languages?

Yes — tours are available in English and Italian. Other languages may be arranged upon request.

Do you also offer tours at other archaeological sites besides Pompeii?

Yes, I also provide tours at:
– Herculaneum
– Oplontis (Villa of Poppaea)
– Naples Archaeological Museum (MANN)
– Paestum
– Stabiae
– Cuma and the Phlegraean Fields

Do you provide transportation?

Transportation can be arranged upon request with private drivers for full-day tours, including transfers from Naples, Sorrento, the Amalfi Coast, or cruise ports. Please note: transfers from Sorrento, the Amalfi Coast, or Salerno may require an additional fee due to the longer distance.
